| So I tried a new list yesterday. Granted it was against a new opponent with a few games behind him. Pitched Annihilation 1850 Inquisition: Inq Lord Liber Hersius, PHood, PW, BoltP, Excruciators; Acolyte, x3 Vet IG PlasG; Rhino Db x4 IST x2 PlasG; Rhino Db Smoke x2 BSS HF, Fl, VSS Brazier, Book; Rhino Db Smoke x1 Dominion x4 Meltagun, VSS Infernus, CCW; Immolator HF Callidus x3 Exorcists
Space Wolves: Wolf Lord Wolf Priest x2 Grey Hunters Wolf Guard x10 Frost Blade Wolf Guard x5 Frost Blade; Droppod Long Fangs x5 HB Long Fangs x2 LasC, x2 PlasC, x1 MM x2 Speeders TypML, HB (I think he may have some other stuff in the squads but can't remember)
I won roll and deployed with clear LOS. One Exorcist on each side and one in the middle. He deployed both LF's in cover and the rest on the flank.
1: The Rhino's moved towards his flank deployment and popped smoke. I took out 3 Wolf Guard and immobilized a speeder.
His drop pod came down and deployed the WG near my Inq Lord. LF stunned a few Rhino's. Smoke is great.
2: My Callidus came in and killed 5 marines in one squad and 3 in another. Dominions took out the WG drop and Exorcist wrecked the Pod. Two Exorcists took the WG down to one Term. Two of the IST moved out deployed and took out half of LF mixed weapons and half of Grey Hunters. Callidus charged and took out 2 more marines and died by Wolf Lord.
LF stunned two Rhino's and blew another, IST's were gunned down by HB LF's.
3: Between Exorcist fire, IST PlasG and Rhino Storm Bolters, one squad of Marines failed morale and would subsequently walk off the board. All WG dead, HB LF down to two, mixed LF down to 2 LasC.
He stunned a Rhino and blew another Rhino.
4: I wrecked/blew both speeders and made his mixed LF run. HB LF made 12 cover saves! I moved the rest into position against his two LF squads.
He stunned a Rhino and killed another IST.
5: He had one LasC LF and 2 HB LF left. More cover saves... and LD rolls.
He stunned a Rhino.
Game end.
Again, granted he was a new player...the IST PlasG were phenom...
I am going to try it against a better player and stronger list. So far so good.

| Thanks for the report Edge. I've yet to play the new Wolves. I'm hoping to... maybe at DBCC. How many points was this... 1850? 3 exorcists... welcome to 40k newbie! | |

| The new wolves...they are deadly in experienced hands with a good build. Most people take the power, tool up a few squads and die in 4 rounds...
Dickie does very well them (see first comment above), a few guys at the Keep haven't found their build yet...(see second).
I have beaten most wolf lists I come across except a few (usually the same few people), again it is who is playing them. IMHO- Thunderwolves are difficult to get around, I shoot em. Long Fangs suck (they are hard to kill, esp when they have 2+ units). Grey Hunters are solid. Most people rely too much on the Priests... The special characters are over priced and not worth the hassle. If they have Logan or Njal or some other cub from the kennel they don't have much else.
A solid Marine list with the Space Wolf tweak is a great build.

| Thanks for the heads up on the Wolves. The thing I've heard on Dakka and such is that Njal is a monster, especially with a certain psychic power that ista kills everything in range. Now that my shadow in the warp doesn't affect psykers in vehicles, I'll just have to make sure I crack the can he's in and then slaughter him! Other than that, I'm not worried. | |

| Jaws of the Wolf or something like that...yeah I believe it is a Toughness test...I lost Meph twice to it. The psychic powers are great but any kind of phood shuts them down. That ruling is bogus. Good for the wolf bad for the bug. Favoritism?
I'd pick up the codex and read up on some before DBCC...

Thats what you should see.
I like the T-Wolf Cavalry but I have only seen them a few times.
