| I started my mono-build Khorne a few days ago and with the winnings from yesterday picked up more Letters. The main post is on my blog. I hope to have them done soon. The Letters shouldn't take long at all. The bases were easy to do and they are almost done. The Board is still in the early stages but coming along nicely. I haven't finalized a list yet but am looking at Bloodthirster, Demon Princes and Bloodletters. If I need to resize the pics smaller let me know. | |

| Thanks. I was going for a basic blood stained look, standing on blood stained rocks on an ocean of blood (from the fluff) When placed on the board they will fit into the look I was attempting.
I have since touched him up a bit with highlights and will update pics when I get the Letters done.

| Instead of carrying the red all the way down the bases, have you thought of black-trimming them? separates and defines them better...IMHO.

| Thanks. I can do that to some of the Letters when I am ready to post and get a visual consensus from you guys.
The display board will be a red pool. My thinking was carrying the red down would blend them to the display board but they might look better on the tabletop trimmed.

| a) that is for tabletop, yes... b) is the board already built? if not, consider foam/foamcore for the layer the beasties will be set upon, and drill in just a bit to recess them. that will both subdue the black-trim, and make them flush with the level surface.
try drybrushing a bit of orange up from the bottom (onto the cork)? I know that's generally a magma-style, but it lends an unearthly quality to the basing if done correctly.

| But...but...its not posed to be MAGMA...its BLOOD! An OCEAN OF BLOOD!
I can try the foam core plug thing...with the amount of Letters I plan to have the board will have to grow to twice the size I had planned if they each had their own hole...
I almost have the first squad of Letters done. Pics should be up in a day or two.

| If you are going for the oceans of blood I would strongly recommend grabbing some tamiya paint. They make an excellent clear and clear red paint. Both are awesome for making a red blood effect.
Paint your bases with a little more red color variation then add the clear and clear red on top of the base coat. Just put them on after the model has been sealed so that the clear retains a semi-gloss shine of liquid.

| What...what?
You can't come in here and start speaking japanese to me Josh.
I had plans to clear coat it once all was done. I didn't know if a color variation would do much more than clutter the appearance. I will give it a try. Thanks.
