Quick questions to see what the club thinks

First off the DCA are one of the few models that carry a pair of power weapons. So by RAW you could take two different types.. for example LANCE and sword then choose what you will be using each round.. Charge in with the lance for example then switch back to your sword for the next round of combat.. OR you could take a AX and use that when you run into terms...

Is this rules abuse? Would this fly in a tourney? What say ye?

Second NOVA is ruling that because of how units are better defined in the BRB now, that JAWS no longer can't hit jumpers. before jump infantry was a special type of unit and not listed in the jaws profile. However now the brb says that jump infantry is both jump and infantry thus JAWS will work on them?

I always thought it was meant to work on everything but by RAW most events ruled against it on jumpers...So curious what you guys think our local scene will support?

(THis is important to you MONGER as wraiths are jump and have low init... so you should know ahead of time if this will be a issue for you in games)

I do think it should be used against jump infantry.... If they are considered both now, then they should reap the benefits and negatives of both types.

And I run wraiths too.

I see nothing that contradicts the mixing of two differing types of PW on a model specifically carrying two. (my personal choice would be maul/axe).

I also always thought the Jump Inf/Inf distinction for JotWW was a bit silly...as I simply saw the 'jump' as a type of infantry, but I saw how the RAW was being interpreted so never questioned it beyond my personal initial dislike of it.
With the changing of the wording in the BRB (which I have not checked, so will assume your paraphrasing leaves nothing out) I shall adjust accordingly.
I am with Mack on this one, and I have Wraiths and BA Jumpers in abundance (as well as a few other units in other armies) that qualify.

I don't really have an opinion as of yet, Nova interpetations have been made clear that they are for the Nova Open only and not intended for every other tournament or as a guide line for everyone. If I ever get off these 12 hour days I will try and research for more opinons to try and come up with some type of concensus of sorts. Regardless at this time I'm not concerned either way as redundancy cures so many things.

I will gladly take Nova over the inat that adepticon uses since the process used to build the nova FAQ does its best not to alter the game. I know several people feel the same way regardless of MVB saying its only for his event it still influences other events and meta. (something MVB is aware of and I have discussed with him several times)

I also don't mean to say its broken or hurts your lists just a nice courtesy or heads up to know ahead of time before someone does it in a event to one of you guys.

Also I know other people play wraiths but Monger has been playing wraith heavy for awhile so it would be something that would affect him the most. No disrespect Mack lol or other robot players =P just looking out for Monger.

My take on JAWS is that it should have ALWAYS hit Jumpers as they are an Infantry subset.

My DCA have Maul/Sword. I modeled them this way long before 6e came out, from bits of DE and Chaos Marauders.

You choose which to use each round of combat and since they are both PW they grant +1 Att.

Ok I have an opinion now. I looked at the rule book last night and it seems pretty cut and dry that jump and jet pack troops are infantry, probably always should have been but seems pretty clear that they are now. Smile
