Legendary Game Fair 2013, Dayton, Oh...Oct 11-13th

Look what I stumbled upon. It's a new 2 day event in Dayton . I don't have a link to the site as I connected from unseen lurker, but you can google it also. I'll be keeping tabs on this and encourage everyone to register on their forum site and to contact Chris (email link below) if you think you might attend. I know it is a little ways off but it never hurts to plan ahead! :)Spread the word and lets try to make this a good one so we have another big event in our area!


LEGENDARY GAME FAIR 2013, Dayton Ohio


The Legendary Game Fair will take place October 11-13, 2013 in Dayton Ohio. We currently have two venues reserved. Once we have an idea of projected numbers, we will finalize which one shall be used. Both are miniutes off of I-70 or I-675 and about an hour from Columbus and Cincinnati.

Highlights of the Legendary Game Faire include:

(1) Warhammer Fantasy GT: Saturday and Sunday, 5 rounds, 2500 points. Standard tournament restrictions will apply. Full rules will be posted in March.

(2) Warhammer 40k GT: Saturday and Sunday, 5 rounds, 1900 points (tentative), standard tournament restrictions will apply. Full rules posted in March

(3) Star Wars X Wing Miniatures Tournament: details forthcoming

(4) Dropzone Commander Tournament: 5 rounds, 1500 points. Full details will be forthcoming.

(5) Dust Tactics Tournament: 300 points, multi-round tournament. This will be a one-day tournament on Saturday.

(6) Friday Night Gaming: Friday night we will have a star wars custom scenario run, we will also have open gaming with board games available for rental for a charitable donation to one of our charities. The warhammer tables will also be available for use, and we will have small team tournaments for fantasy and 40k in the evening.

(7) Saturday Night Gaming and Trivia: Saturday night we will once again have open gaming lasting all night, as well as our first "Gaming Trivia" contest, where teams of players will compete through several rounds of trivia testing your knowledge of games gaming and related topics.

Warhammer Fantasy GT

The Warhammer Fantasy GT will be a 2-day, 5 round 2500 point tournament. The tournament will be Saturday and Sunday of the LGF. The fee for this event will be $40.

Warhammer 40k GT

The Warrhammer 40k GT will be a 2-day, 5 round 1850 point tournament. The tournament will be staggered with our Fantasy GT and will be held on Saturday and Sunday of the LGF. The fee for this event will be $40.

Other Tournaments

Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures:
This will be a 1-day, multiround tournament. 100 points and standard FFG rules will apply. The fee for this event will be $15.

Dust Tactics:
300 points, 1 day tournament. Multiple rounds, will use official FFG rules. Entry fee for this event is $15.

Dropzone Commander Tournament:
1500 point, 4 round tournament, 1 day tournament. Full details forthcoming. Entry fee for this event is $15.

Any update?

Nothing yet, at least not on the website I haven't checked their Facebook page in a while. There is one thing thou. I was at the Bookery last week and ended up meeting one of the organizers for this. Talked to him for a few minutes, seemed to be a nice guy!

I checked out their web site and facebook page last night and pre registration is up and I guess it has been since Buckeye Battles. Strange thing is there is no mention or info on a 40k tournament now. I posted on the web site but have not gotten a response yet. Anyone else know anything?

We have other volunteers and people helping in the background but the four of us are the ones you'll interact with most and now you know where to direct questions if you have any.

Now a bit of sad news. Due to space constraints it does not look like we will be able to host 40k this year. We are all bummed about it, but as its our first year it came down to what we were able to reserve on our budget and keep risks low. The venue we have has space, but we are unsure as of now if it has room for 2 GT's. Once we get a better idea of attendance for the other events we may end up adding a 1-day 40k event on Saturday and/or Sunday. We'll let you know as things develop.

It is too bad they couldn't get a 40k GT this year.
I guess Fantasy has a better foundation and brings in more players.
